I always felt that her hard partying ways and the Stompanato Murder ( Lana was 'dating' a Mafia hod who was beating her and Lana's daughter Cheryl claimed she knifed this raging mafia mobster and he died. That is the official story , I feel her partying ways and the Stompanator murder ruined her chances- even if years after the murder- for an Oscar nom if not the Oscar itself for Madame X her greatest performance.)
