Chicago Fire: Rattle Second City (2020)
Season 9, Episode 1
10/10
My favorite.

I love all of One Chicago but Fire is probably my favorite. I just love all of their storylines. This episode was a super strong opening to the season. Med made a play on current race relations and climates in America and it fell flat, in my opinion. Fire did something similar but their execution was spot on. They manage to shine a light on heroes past that happened to be people of color. I phrase it like that, not out of disrespect. The opposite. They should have just been remembered for their heroic hearts.. but they were pioneers of a different time when this country had a different heart. They also managed to use that moment in history to highlight more women (WOC and POC in general) and how they should be represented more in leadership positions in the fire department. I thought it was all done beautifully. It felt honest and genuine, and that's what I've come to expect from Chicago Fire.
