First I have to say that some peoples reaction to this episode is very telling. Accusing a show of being political because it shows a black family reacting to what's going on in the world is ridiculous. What these people really want is for Randall to just be black on the surface but white in all other ways. They want to pretend racism doesn't exist and that poc aren't forced to confront it on a regular basis. Dealing with racism and having an emotional reaction to what's going on in the world is simply a realistic depiction of what black families are dealing with and it's not political at all. So why did I give the episode 5 stars. Purely based off the ending. It was an unnecessary and unrealistic twist and just might be where this series jumped the shark. All plot developments coming from this twist are going to be tedious and contrived and generally reduce the quality of the show. That's my opinion anyway.
