In the 90's Nick made da best cartoons. We had cute babies in the Rugrats and cute sureal marsupials in Rockos modern life and cool teens in Doug. Then we have disgusting Monsters in Ahhh!! Real Monsters.
Ahh!! Real Monsters is about 3 monsters who go to high school together to learn to scare to survive. This is a great story. We have Ickis who is arrogant, Oblina a studious female looks like a Snake, and Krumm the funny fat guy who holds his eyes. He looks like a toilet. The plot starts with young monsters being bossed around by an extremely rude and abusive teacher who yells far too much. He is unlikable. He sounds feminine. There is a good dynamic between these characters.
The humor is really gross out and I love it.
The aesthetics are pretty creepy for a cartoon made for kids and just down right sureal. Heavily detailed. The backgrounds aren't shaded and are all in brown muted tones. Nothing is shaded. All the monsters are imaginative.
This audio is just unsettling. The intro theme will make you pee your pants. The ending theme is creepy to.
Overall Ahh Real monsters is a good show. Worth a watch. But it's not memorable. The humor in this show is mean spirited. There is a lack of moral because these characters are lacking any human traits other than they can speak. Whatever. Enjoy it!
