The internet was down, so free to air was our only option. Remember enjoying Halifax f.p. back in the 90s, so thought we'd give this a go. The cast are definitely reputable, with Rebecca Gibney joined by Claudia Karvan and Anthony LaPaglia.
The script (for this first episode at least) seems to have been a leftover from the original series, with characters making statements that are more 1996 than 2020 (e.g. "Interview his wife, his priest"). The relationships are weak and without substance. The lazy scripting doesn't stop there with Halifax receiving a threatening note in what seems like a stupid and non-psychopathic way.
In a time when we have amazing Nordic dramas in abundance, I'd hoped that this would be more creative and more considered, and more REAL.
