Secret Supertsar is about a young girl's aspiration to become star singer. She is from a conservative Muslim family and despite family taboos on music she does various activities for fulfilling her dream. Her mother fully supports her dream but the father doesn't. Despite domestic troubles, despite social taboos, despite the age she marches forward and touches the public spotlight.
A good positive theme film but the characters are negatively depicted. The lead girl, a rebellious natured person, her father the kinda villain figure in the film, her grandmother and mother being the victim of patriarchal norms, Shakti Kapoor the carefree guy who needs to be controlled by others, her friend who is also naughty like her bunking class. Only positive character shown in the film is her Mother who despite abuse supports her daughter's dream. So the final note "Real Secret Superstar is my Mother" fully explains the film weight.
