Disclaimer:I am no expert reviewer, I just need a show to binge watch and I'm going to Write a review for every episode I watch.
This episode is one of the scarier ones that I have seen because being hunted has been one of my fears since ninth grade English class where we had to read "the most dangerous game" Which is a short story that this episode was clearly inspired by and did a good job of Elaborating on but never straight out mentioned the story which I found a little odd since Reid always butts in with that kind of information.
I thought this episode had a very nice balance between the time spent of the agents creating a profile and finding out who the unsubs are versus the time they spend on documenting the victims and the hunters.
I also thought this episode did a good job with showing how emotional difficult the agents jobs are in particular JJ's job of having to inform families of their relatives murders. I almost wish that was a little bit more explored in this episode but it has been explored in other episodes and I assume will be in the future as well.
And I always love when they throw in funny parts of the episode like the opening scene to this episode was hilarious with the women of the BAU messing with some dumbass at the bar.
The only few things that I didn't like about this episode was that towards the end they tried to make the audience have empathy for these literal human hunters by having them both die away from each other and Gideon comforting one of them was maybe a little much but does go to show how empathic Jason is. And the fact that I found the acting and portrayal of the several victims in the woods pretty unusual, like they're literally being hunted and they low-key don't even seem that worried about it. Like Bobbi is ready to kill, the other woman was willing to get shot so she could cry over her husbands body, and the guy who although he started frightened also seemed to get over his fear fast. But none of these minor annoyances by any means ruined this episode.
Overall a very intense episode since they were literally on the hunt for people hunting other people and it really freaked me out.
