Review of Cleaning Up

The Wire: Cleaning Up (2002)
Season 1, Episode 12

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was harsh and possibly the best so far. This one delivered, more so than any previous episode, the true harsh reality of the game and the police force. From Wallace's extremely cruel death, to Daniels' constant power struggles with his higher-ups, this show really is unforgiving, which is a great trait to have when dealing with these topics. I particularly liked how at the start of the episode, it showed how McNulty and Daniels had basically switched their stances on the case. It also shows the pretty problematic police stance of "we only care if we no longer feel safe". Stringer Bell looks like he's now poised to be the front man and I'm definitely looking forward to how this season ends
