Warning: Spoilers
I was a DJ from 76-80 at the SD Cal USO, KUSO 102.9. (We never got to be on the Air). It was a USO (Military Hang out). All the DJ's were Active Duty, and were from the Midwest and Texas. We wore Levi's, Stetsons, and Cockroach Killer Boots. (Pointed Cowboy boots).

When we were not preparing our Vinyl play list or Spinning Platters we often were up on the Center raised Dance Floor. We all would do Country Line Dancing to Disco music. This was Before Californians even knew about Country Line. The "Duuuude" types thought we were Choreographed.

Just picture John Travolta dressed in his "Urban Cowboy" but acting in the "Saturday Night Live" Movie. Then of course if he wore the SNL Movie Outfit in the Urban Cowboy movie ... it would have been a Short movie. Bouncer Patrick Swayze would have never let him in the Road House.

We also grew up with parents that taught us how to do Jitterbug, Waltz'es, BeBop, Swing, etc. With exception of John Travolta's movie none of us knew how to do authentic Disco. I don't remember any of us doing any Disco Dance, except pretending the Travolta Point up and Down.

Since it was a Veteran Hang out "No Blow" or any drugs. Most of us didn't even Smoked. My Call was Mongoose. Except for 3 of the Volunteer Ladies found out my Middle Name (Hebrew) sounded like Charles, they called themselves Charlies Angels (TV Show back then, later a movie(s)? I was not Orthodox, but Messianic so didn't wear Skull Cap.

The Kentucky 1977 Disco Fire happened during that time over 100 died. There was a Disco Mixed Artists Album called Disco Fire that came out in the late 70's.

Lastly, we didn't learn Disco Dancing because this Episode proves if you Disco Dance and get in a Fight with someone with a Gun aimed at you ... those dance moves does keep the Gun aimed at you. It is the only dance style I can think of that has "NO" fight moves ... exception if the Song "Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting" then he would have lived. Not the "Panda" movies, but the 1970s version. When this song came on at the Disco, it was the only time the DJ's did NOT do line dancing, but our Veteran Training moves without the giant black Q-Tip.
