Two giants of the silent screen - Gloria Swanson and Rudolph Valentino - unite with surprisingly lukewarm results in a film that was long believed to be lost. Both struggle with their roles - as an English lord, Valentino is every inch the latin lover, while Swanson fails to convince as the innocent ingenue emotionally blackmailed into marrying a much older man she doesn't love (Robert Bolder, who turns an initially comical character into one that earns the sympathy of both the audience and the film's other characters).
