Fun for kids but not for anyone older than 10

Warning: Spoilers
I walked into this movie with low expectations because it's just a kids movie. The acting was very bad except for a few people. The child actors were surprisingly good (for kid actors at least.) The story was fine, good for kids but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone older than 10 or 11.

The main thing I didn't like about the movie was the unnecessary romance between Emily and Scott. That was stupid. Especially because they both look 14 and the story was fine without it. It made me cringe so hard every time there was flirting or something between them. If you want a movie with romance, don't hide it in a adventure movie, make a full on romance movie.

There were also many plot holes. Why were Scott and Emily at Scott's grandma's house? How do Scott and Emily know each other? I thought they were cousins or something until they started flirting.

The movie was fun for my 6 and 7 year old but my 11 and 13 year olds just made fun of it the whole time. It's not a bad movie, it's just a movie for young kids that don't care about plot, acting, or CGI.
