I can see Kay and Eve becoming friends. After all, as mothers they have their married children in common, but that's never enough for fathers. Roger and Herb are as different as night and day, in career, in manners, and in taste. Herb may be stuffy, but he's no snob, just competitive and penny pinching when it comes to what Rodger owes him after splitting a dinner check down the middle, having ordered much more along with Kay than Herb and Eve. Herb tries to get back his money in every way possible, and this brings about a quiet feud between the two that makes Roger realized what the issue is, but somehow he manages to continue to cheat his son's father-in-law.

Usually at the forefront of the conflict, Eve and Kay take a backseat although they do have a nice sparring moments over everything that they have done for the other couple. This is a nice little switch 2 Shelby veinte not interfering and Jerry and Suzie's marriage, but basically trying to resolve a different type of problem. Veteran comic Benny Rubin is the waiter. The episode on DVD also features a vintage Camay commercial with Kay and Eve. As much as the character of Rodger annoys me, particularly played by Carmel, this is probably one of his better episodes, but unfortunately, the season was wrapping up, and so would his time on the show over a salary dispute.
