Intro to Archie Bunker

Carroll O'Connor was the only actor on this planet that could have played Archie Bunker. The same is true of the other 3 characters. This episode, luckily, came before we had political correctness. Had PC been in place at the time, some genius would have found a way to sugar-coat everything in the episode. The show was dealing with real issues, so the characters needed to come across as real as possible. I've always thought that the relationship between Archie and Lionel was interesting. Lionel knows how to handle Archie-much better than Mike does. Archie and Lionel are also friends. They obviously don't see certain things the same way, but that's OK. We don't need to agree on everything. Superlative episode. Gloria's mini-skirt was an added attraction.
