Ghost Whisperer: Bloodline (2008)
Season 4, Episode 5

One Last Gasp

Warning: Spoilers
This may well be the best episode of the rest of the series, immediately preceding the 13-show Jim/Sam debacle, and the 5-year jump of Season 5.

Its pretext, babies switched at birth, had not been treated before, although could have been inferred early on by seeing which child resembled which mother.

The dead girl, victim of a congenital heart defect (yeah, a borrowing from the Bloody Mary episode) , seeks to take revenge on the other girl, formerly a best friend, and the mother who sought to conceal it all, going so far as to injure the nurse involved in the accidental switch.

As with other episodes, the finale is a real tearjerker, as a major reconciliation takes place, the ghost goes into the light, and the mothers and remaining child hug, while Mel cries.

Christoph Sanders as Ned gets some screen time too. I wonder if he knew when he signed on that he would be omitted from 40% of the episodes? But in GW, JLH is the star, and all the other recurring characters, except boyfriend Jamie Kennedy, are consigned to the background.
