A real portrait of the youth in periphery
16 May 2020
Second feature-length film directed by Affonso Uchoa (after brilliant 'Arábia'), and the third by writer João Dumans (his partner in Arábia), 'A Vizinhança do Tigre' ('Hidden Tiger') is another excellent example of cinematic realism. It is a quasi-documentary and deep portrait of the life of young boys in a slum in Contagem town, Minas Gerais state, with lack of opportunities, strong friendship ties, playful spend of time, and intimacy with violence. Only a work with a broad participation with amateur of that community made this movie possible.
