A PUNCH TO REVENGE is another low budget but exciting action thriller from Hong Kong, telling an interesting and sometimes controversial story in a pacy and thrilling fashion. Regular character actor Eddy Ko plays a family man struggling to make ends meet; his wife turns to prostitution for cash while his son is severely disabled (as is the actor playing him). Yukari Oshima somewhat unbelievably plays the family's social worker, soon caught up in crime when Ko hooks up with some mainland gangsters in a bid to rob a goldsmith.
Action in this film comes thick and fast throughout, and although Oshima only plays in a supporting role she supplies the majority of the fights. She's as deadly as ever and a powerful force to be reckoned with, while male lead Ben Lam valiantly attempts to keep up with her. There are plenty of cruel villains around, some shocking bursts of violence, and a brawling, brutal climax too.
