Set in the historically relevant year of 1865 (following the end of the American Civil War) - "Love Me Tender" (from 1956) is (for the most part) a fairly entertaining "love-triangle" tragedy which was competently directed by Robert Webb.
Of course, this film's biggest draw was that it boasted being the screen debut of American singing sensation, Elvis Presley (who was just 21 years old at the time and showing plenty of confidence).
Far from being glamorous - "Love Me Tender's" action focuses in and around the activities of the 4 Reno brothers who are basically down-home farm-boys devoted to their widowed mother.
