Detective Constable Rachel Bailey is not exactly chuffed when her boyfriend Nick Savage chooses to dump her, saying he needed more space as he felt they were moving too fast. This was especially bewildering as she had imagined, that he may want to propose to her.
As Rachel is particularly galled by this she visits Nick's place to have it out with him, he gives her complete and insulting guff about her personality. She returned to Savage's residence to be told that he had moved, probably "back to his wife".
Rachel wants to check on Nick so she PNC's his car, to get as much info as possible. She phoned his home phone number, and spoke to his wife who mentioned their sons. Rachel then pays Nick a visit to his home, with the spurious claim of having broken down.

Janet gets a phone call at work from Geoff Hastings wanting to get her help, towards what he feels may be a police case.
