There's a reason A Nightmare On Elm Street spawned 6 sequels, 1 Freddy vs Jason and a failed reboot. It was that damn good. Sure some aspects haven't aged that well, like the Home Alone style scene near the end or certain parts of the story weren't that clear but the way the tension Is built towards the reveal of Freddy and the death scenes more than stand the test of time.
