This show is great, because it adds the drama Alone is missing and adds variety. My wife refuses to watch the original Alone, because it gets so slow. I even only watch it on-demand and fast forward through much of the original. However, Alone the beast shows human interaction and makes the slow fast enough to where I do not fast forward. This also gives an additional show to watch if you like Naked and Afraid.
It seems though there was misunderstanding, therefore a lot of negative reviews from people scared the original Alone was changed.
