Wasted on the Young (I) (2010)

Stylishly directed but predictable

Warning: Spoilers
Shy and withdrawn Darren (Oliver Ackland) lives in the shadow of his step-brother Zack (Alex Russell) - alpha male of the same high-school they attend. The 17-year old has slight advantage over his jock sibling in that he is academically superior and a computer whiz. Darren also catches the eye of wholesome blonde Xandrie (Adelaide Clemens). But everything comes unhinge for him in insidious aftermath of a house party and subsequent victimization of Xandrie. Multi-layered performances by the three leads with Ackland quiet intense protagonist are superbly convincing. Stylishly directed by Ben C. Lucas in his feature debut but the story just grows predictable as it reaches the climax.
