I'm not a big fan of the typical romance or family get-together movies that usually litter the holiday film genre so to watch a more original plot with more action/adventure tropes was very refreshing!
While the plot has some weird directions it goes in, the overall tone is really goofy in a way that is amusing to watch no matter your age. The movie also hits on some themes that haven't been explored the way this movie takes them on, i.e. capitalism and Christmas, employee treatment.
The acting is pretty good, especially from the lead Brielle Carter who is a first time actor.
Perhaps my favorite part of this is there is no forced romance and instead the main character just makes a bunch of friends throughout her mission, and has a great relationship with a fellow female elf that is very different than typical characterization.
The VFX are pretty good for what they are and it's really amazing to think that this was filmed mostly in Florida as it doesn't look like it at all.
