CUT is an Australian variant of the classic slasher movie with more than a nod to SCREAM; Kylie Minogue even has an opening scene cameo that screams Drew Barrymore. The story is predictability in itself, with the crew of a low budget horror movie menaced by a real-life villain, but the execution isn't bad at all and certainly never tests the patience. The emphasis is on gory special effects, of which there are plenty, rather than any kind of character depth or narrative intricacy, and the result is an entertaining if shallow feature. An unrecognisable Molly Ringwald headlines the cast.
