It is not different by many French historical films. Beautiful clothes, inspired locations, seductive photography, correct performances and dialogues, Jacques Perrin reminding the traits of his art, Pierre Boulanger giving a seductive and provocative Le Cinq - Mars. And, sure, tension, love story, decent reflection of historical events, drops of humor, familiar and loving fight scenes and nice end. A TV film reminding, maybe too much, a long tradition and the flavors of history of France in correct manner.
