Ranganayaki (2019)

"Aditi Prabhudeva shines as a bold woman in this impressive thriller!"
2 November 2019
This year Sandalwood has been churning out several women centric films and almost all of them have succeeded in making an impact on the audience. Ranganayaki is an addition to this list.

This film focuses on the story of an independent woman who undergoes sexual violence. It shows how she bravely deals with the aftermath and boldly faces the psychological & social trauma surrounding her.

The film has a simple and decent screenplay and keeps the viewer engaged throughout. The emotions are handled very delicately at many points in the film. There are many scenes wherein the viewer can connect and try to understand the pain and sorrow displayed on screen.

It's Aditi Prabhudeva's show all the way and she has delivered an impactful performance. She looks gorgeous on screen and her acting is very graceful. M G Srinivas also plays a brilliant role in the film as a supportive and smart guy.

Although the acting feels a tad melodramatic at some places, the film delivers the message quite clearly to the audience. Director Dayal Padhmanabhan has once again succeeded in his venture by churning out another unique & impressive film and it makes for a good impactful watch.
