Short and sweet typical revenge slasher clocking in just over an hour. With $30,000 and a 14 year old director I can honestly say it does pretty well for what it is considering the plethora of B to C grade Halloween-based slashers/films.
The kills aren't exactly gory, but they are pretty arterial and spread nicely throughout (2 kills by 25 mins). And with just over an hour the film doesn't overstay its welcome.
Unlikely to break new ground, but a pretty solid Halloween slasher flick. I have certainly seen worse. The killer reveal was unexpected, at least for me. Red herrings abound. Moral purity aside, it was hard to not enjoy these grown up punks getting their just deserts considering what they did some eight years ago, all for an Xbox (seriously).
6/10 for me, slight net positive (5 being default/lukewarm). It is no "Halloween" but in the plethora of Halloween-based films there are much, much worse to be found
