Warning: Spoilers
Not a film for the fans really. Not enough flesh on the bone or edge. The movie basically describes an unsual time in the life of Jeff Buckley when he is invited begrudgingly to perform at his father's tribute concert. Elements of the movie are sensitive, well-paced and reasonably accurate, but I'm sure the majority of fans of both Tim and Jeff were left feeling dry. The film featured more songs by Tim but more footage of Jeff - this didnt really make sense. Songs and life are bisociations of eachother. I am more of a fan of Jeff, but would have happily have watched a biopic about Tim depicting his life, his music, his demise, with maybe the climax of the film being his tribute concert. But for some reason we are given a taster of Jeff's genius and his talent, but nothing concrete or fulfilling to grab onto. And likewise, we listen to the songs of Tim, but don't properly understand where they are coming from.
