It honestly doesn't even deserve the 4 stars it has, let alone 1 star. It is APPALLINGLY bad. I hated this one even as a kid when I saw it, and I absolutely despise it as an adult. Anyone who has seen it knows why it's bad.
Freddie (very respectfully I might add) says he doesn't think "Fred" (the annoying web star of 2008) is all that funny (and he is absolutely right). After Freddie states his unpopular opinion, "Fred" decides to shut his web show down since one person said they didn't find him funny, and the whole world proceeds to bully and harass Freddie over it. It isn't fun to watch, like at all. You just feel bad for Freddie as he is kicked out of every club he's in and gets beaten over "ruining" Fred. Apparently everyone in the school liked Fred so much that they proceed to torment Freddie incessantly throughout the duration of the entire episode. It's just......disgusting honestly. It gets so bad that they decide to contact "Fred" and make him resume his show so the incessant bullying stops. Turns out it was all a "ploy" from "Fred" to boost ratings on iCarly's web show (which worked somehow.....). No lesson is learned by the end of the episode. In fact, Freddie is FORCED TO APOLOGIZE for saying he didn't think "Fred" was all that funny. For having an opinion, he is forced to apologize pretty much at gunpoint because it is "unpopular". (Maybe not at gunpoint but you get the idea.....)
This episode is quite disgusting honestly. I did enjoy iCarly the show for the most part, but this one episode is the biggest blemish on this show's record. It enforces the stigma that is having an unpopular opinion is something you shouldn't express otherwise face the wrath of the world (and I guess that is true sadly). And it's all played for laughs. I can't express enough why I despise this episode. Just watch PieGuyRulz rant video on the episode to get a full idea of its rottenness.....
Also I think there's a B plot with Spencer taking orders from a magic meatball (stolen DIRECTLY from an episode of Rocko's Modern Life I might add, but without any of the charm of that episode). It adds nothing, nor is it funny either.
