This is a fantastic documentary that beautifully shows the impact that Duterte's war on drugs is having on everyday filipino's who now live in fear of ending up on one of the governments lists as a suspected drug taker or drug dealer. Citizen's are encouraged to turn each other in to save themselves and the police forces that enforce the laws are heinously corrupt. The filmmakers gained unparalleled access to the very police forces carrying out citizen executions and shockingly their arrogance leads them to admit on camera to criminal acts.
For two film makers to take on this project, knowing the backlash they would encounter from Duterte supporters only makes this more important. Documentaries are here to reveal the untold stories and uncomfortable truths, On The President's Orders does that perfectly.
