This film has an interesting premise, similar to that of the French film "Martyrs" and comes to a similar unsatisfying conclusion. At least, this film doesn't force us to sit through extended sadism and gore, like the French film, to get to its ambiguous ending, I liked the actors and the flash-backs in the protagonist's mind were somewhat interesting.
