I have just seen this movie for the first time so I do not have fond childhood memories about it. I was not really impressed by the start but the movie sort of grew a bit on me in the later part. It is in my opinion not a masterpiece but a foretelling about what would later come. I had hoped for more muppets and less people.
It is a fair way to spend your time but unless looking for something to see with the kids then it is not worth searching long and hard for.
