Gotham's Series Finale is a great send off to the show, but honestly somewhat underwhelming.
It's great to see all the characters 10 years later, to see how they've grown, and changed. All the Comic accurate costumes, and the actors giving them their all. It's just really fun to see Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, and J. I feel like those characters could've used more focus though. Barbara especially, and the rest of the characters. We really never get a proper look at Batman until the end, and I feel like they kinda pulled a Smallville.
They could've done so much more with this episode. However I can't lie, it was a great episode nonetheless. It's nice to see Commissioner Gordon scream "GCPD!" one last time, and with that stache. The new actress for Catwoman was very good. The scene where she steals the diamond, and talks to Bruce really captures the character's essence. Oswald and Edward are always great to see together, and when Batman gets them it was just an awesome scene. I also have to mention their comic accurate costumes are awesome!
Even though J was only in it for barely 5 minutes, those 5 minutes were glorious. Cameron Monaghan proves time and time again that he is an amazing actor, and can play a fantastic Joker. He's vicious, crazy, funny, he's The Joker!
I do wish, once again, we got more time with these characters. The episode just feels too rushed, and choppy. The episode should've been a 2-Hour finale like in Season 3, or at least more focused on Batman. We only get a proper shot at Batman till the end, and while I get they were trying to show how Gotham sees Batman, I think we should've at least gotten Batman and J face to face.
Overall Gotham's finale is disappointing, but still very entertaining, and a great episode. It just feels like a little like missed opportunity. The final shot is amazing though.
Gotham will be missed!
