While I recognized the art and the figurative style, I confess I wasn't familiar with the artist himself before seeing this film. I'm so glad I took the time to view it. Beautiful cinematography, including some truly intimate moments with Botero and with his adult children. The film-makers told a cohesive story of the artist's life and works, with a caring eye and ear. The scene of unfurling works stored long ago was particularly compelling - so much passion and colour hidden away for years - it felt like discovering treasure. I loved every minute.
