"All right!"
20 February 2019
Have you ever noticed how often Frank says "all right" in the show? Whether it's about pizza, a troublemaker, birthdays...

Throughout the third season we've seen the relationship between Frank and Edna developing. They've had their sweet moments and they've had their little arguments, but all in all have stuck together. When Edna's ex-husband comes to town however, things get really sour...

Frank's over-the-top yelling and reactions never fail to get to me. He's just so passionate about everything you gotta love it. Of course, this means he sometimes steps in the mud as well. And you don't want to piss someone like Edna off. The conflict erupting between them felt realistic, but was also funny. Edna comes up with some of the most vicious insults, and Frank refuses to admit that he's jealous over Edna seeing her ex-husband or that he needs her.

The other characters also get to shine. Lenny and Squiggy have some really hilarious bits, like when Frank calls them pickleheads and they get very upset. Or when Shirley yells after someone to take her dress off and they storm in enthusiastically.

Laverne has a nice bonding moment with her father when she tries to cheer him up and convince him to treat Edna more romantically. They have such a great bond.

Shirley gets a priceless song number near the end when she and Laverne try their best to spice up Frank and Edna's relationship with music, nice wine and condiments. It's even funnier when Frank and Edna have patched things up and she starts singing loudly again. As for how they resolve their disputes? Frank in his own unique way tells Edna he loves her.

"I love you and that's that!"

A strong way to end the season.
