This UK low-budget film about the SAS training regime is loose remake of Heartbreak Ridge, relocated to the UK. Like the Clint Eastwood film, I Am Soldier shows the training hardships endured by new applicants to joint the elite force and concludes with an SAS operation involving the successful recruits. Overall, despite a rather poor screenplay and obvious budget restrictions, this is an enjoyable celebration of the SAS and their skills without any overt anti-military lectures.
