Caught in a Trap showcases all that's good about the small screen. Based on real life events this delightful TV movie tells the story of Gemma, an unhappy girl, with an Obsession, that helps mask the pain, Elvis.
This has it all, it's funny, moving, comforting, it's somehow insightful, giving a glimpse into the life of someone who hasn't come to terms with the death of a loved one. Connie Fisher is a revelation I have to say, she's fantastic as Gemma, sweet, tragic, empathetic, I thought she was just magical. Jim Carter and Geraldine James were excellent also.
Of course Fisher gets the opportunity to display that beautiful voice of hers, it's a wonderful moment. It is however the vocals of the King himself which make this such a glorious watch.
