This second episode offered little explanation and no real reasons as to why Dean (Michael) is living among the humans he despises. He later remarks to a vampire that he is impressed with him but doesn't articulate why exactly. The show is also holding on their recurring characters when they serve no real purpose. Bobby and Mark Pellegrino were brought back but to what end. The bunker has become so crowded as has this show. So many iconic shows have killed off their main characters and not lost a sweat such as Vikings or Game of Thrones. Yet Supernatural is having trouble dropping the dead weight for supporting characters.
I have never seen a show that has such a rich universe and been able to reinvent itself after the Apocalypse era was finished. The gates of hell, Mark of Cain story lines are examples of great writing and twists. The writers need to be changed or come up with a new direction and twist.
