Michelangelo showed through his life and works
30 September 2018
The idea of realizing a movie-documentary about Michelangelo is very appreciable. The choice of talking about him through "Le vite" written from Giorgio Vasari is also a good intuition. Another point of strength of the movie are the images, really well done, high quality, so that we can admire the main works realized by the genius. In some moments the emotion was so big that I was moved and I cried, considering the immense beauty of the David, The Pity and others. I liked also how Ivano Marescotti played his role as Giorgio Vasari. What is more, good photography and artistic scenes. Something could have done better. I didn't like Enrico Lo Verso in his acting, but this is only my opinion. The movie talkes about all the works, however at the end it results a bit superficial: I suppose it is difficult to say enough in a documentary, but in this aspect it is similar to the one realized for Caravaggio. A big difference in this sense looking at other movies, such as the one dedicated to Dali, much more interesting, specific, deep and full of details, so that the audience can really learn something from the movie. In any case the Lucky Red did a good job and I hope we will see more similar documentaries at the cinema, with this incredible high quality of the images.
