8/10
amazing story, but terrible acting

Warning: Spoilers
A true horror classic that deserves a shot at redemption for the acting that just wasn't selling the true fear of the unknown. the emotions were played out instead of giving it time to buipd of suspense, the actors did nkt put their hearts into their character. we start the film off with a young woman applying make-up in a mirror as she is annoyed with her brother and the chores their dad set for them due to the mother coming to visit them after her divorce with her husband . then something catches her eye when she goes to check the window for rain, only to find a unknown figure. she gazes at it in wonder.(in this scene she shows the most emotion in her performance.) as she stares at the figure her dad calls her informing her that her mother is coming soon and the chores are delayed, she tells her father of the figure staring at her and all her dad can tell her is "Don't look away" . this leaves her worried and scared, only to make matters worse her brother comes in the room, ignoring her instructions to lock the doors and windows he gazes at the creature aswell and cannot leave, however she believes as long as somoene is in eye contact with it that everything will be fine. sge breaks contact and leaves to lock-up the house. (rising tension) She returns to fund that sge can longer see the figure, though her brother still can see it. not being able to turn to his sister, she is attacked by the figure she lost contact of and when her brother finally lets go of his stare, he attempts to stop with no success. that is until their father comes in the room and manages to stop it explaining that the entity has followed them since his marriage and can develop duplicates connected only by sights, the film ends in suspense after their motger arrives at the ring of a doorbell and tge camera pans out from the entity.
