I didn't think the entire film was true to the real events, although it was based on a true story. Loosely based on a true story more like. I can't comment on the real story because I've not heard about it but will comment on this particular film. The acting was not that good and the music was dreary. The write-up explained that the older cases on the former wives and his own mother's deaths have never been reopened. That sounds very shocking, as no justice was done for them. The killer was put away for killing the third wife but not for the other people he killed.
