Warning: Spoilers
I grew up watching this and only this. Well, also Spongebob but that's not the point. The show takes place after the events of The World Race where the racers have split into two rival gangs; the Teku and the Metal Maniacs. Their rivalry stems from the two leaders' resentment for each other after the supposed murder of the former Teku leader. They are interrupted by GIG, the robotic assistant to Dr. Tezla, the man in charge of the acceledrome. The gangs head to the acceledrome and find out that races are still taking place through other dimensions, and being won by the main antagonizing force, the Racing Drones.

In the first race, a storm themed realm, they lose Kadeem, a returning character from World Race.

In the second world, a swamp realm, Nolo, the Teku leader wins, earning an accelecharger; a device that csn give a drivers car special abilities.

The episode ends, leaving a cliffhanger for the next episode.

All in all, for a kid's series, the show has a rather mature theme, making it so that parents might enjoy it with their kids instead of feeling forced to watch in unwillingly. It has great action, interesting characters, and a surprisingly decent plot.

On a final note, the Teku have cooler cars.
