The series opened with The Savoy Hotel, very much typical of the type of episode I was expecting from this series, slow, plodding, interesting, but a touch dull, Not for the Nervous is very different, both in its content and delivery. It begins the same with, with an intriguing introduction from the charismatic Robert Morley, but as the case begins, this is a far better episode. The courtroom scenes are intriguing enough, but it's the scene where Kate describes the crime to the Reverend Father M'Enery that is the most powerful part, she describes the crime in such graphic, sickening detail, that you cannot help but be both gripped and slightly alarmed. Elaine Paige has always been somewhat of a mystery to me, a great singer and broadcaster, but such a marvellously talented actress, brilliant in Marple and Tales of the Unexpected, but she proves she had undoubted talent even in her youth, she is brilliant here, Kitchen, excellent himself, looks genuinely shocked at times.
