MASH Morals Lesson 1001
21 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Based upon one of the Mash novels, this script written by Farrell is a prime time lesson in morals which around 1980 were already under major attack in our society. The big attack had already happened years prior to this show and was in Korea too. This addresses the stress of BJ and Hawkeye when a beautiful woman invades the camp.

Susan Saint James really makes this episode. Her character is allowed to develop into the attractive type of woman every man wants. She makes us fall in love with her again, just like she did when she was doing Mystery Movies on NBC. I love her here just as much as there. I almost wonder if I would still love her now, as much as I did then.

She falls for BJ at first sight and attacks and attacks him to the point where he is very uncomfortable. She makes Hawkeye uncomfortable because she pays no attention to him, even though his ego is actually bigger than his attraction to her. Hawk is looking for conquest. BJ is trying to avoid being conquered.

While Farrell's script kind of makes BJ into one huge mess, the emotion he shows towards her is genuine. He can't eascape the war and he nearly tries to escape in way that would leave him wanting. As for her, she has everything except BJ and that is predictable. She is so charming, just seeing her charm for this short a time is sheer pleasure.
