Not being a cop, myself, I really can't say what's what.
But, what I do know is that in every other episode of Adam-12, I've seen (at the end of their shift) Reed and Malloy (as well as the cops) lock up their guns at the police station and then they went home to civilian life.
Yet, in this one episode Reed didn't do this. And, so - Wouldn't you know it - Reed (in civilian dress) suddenly finds himself in a lethal situation (arms full of groceries) where he must draw this weapon (concealed under his jacket) in order to save his own skin.
And, as you can well-guess - The confrontation that entails is like pure police crap hitting the fan of truth, justice, and the American way.
Anyway - This whole business I just described is simply more inaccurate nonsense about the whole operating procedures of the LAPD.
