There was a time when we let storytellers tell "their" story's. We went along for the ride. My point is if you want to do the driving, tell for own story. These terms like "filler" should be used for weak storytelling and obvious displays of such. "Demimonde" is a very light to dark transition over the scope of the episode. Well written and paced. It pauses. It breathes slowly. It slaps you in the face a couple of times. Brona, the terrier. It shows Ethan's overwhelming sense of the opposing pressure til it culminates. But then, that's if your actually watching and going along with the story and not just waiting for your expectations to be met. You see you have to care. If you don't, well that's on you as the viewer most times. Well done film artist.
