A brutal tale of self sacrifice.
24 November 2017
I am a long time fan of Vince Vaughn since the first time I saw Swingers so seeing this mysterious new film just appear starring him I decided to take a look. At first glance it seemed like a strange movie for the comically odd fast talking Vince Vaughn to star in but boy did this movie cement my belief that he is a talented actor.

Vince's performance was solid and believable in a way few actors achieve. He really makes the character feel real in a way that you sympathies for his struggle.

From the very beginning this movie establishes the brutal realism of it's action scenes when Vince wrecks a car with his bare hands "Which was real BTW" out of pure rage and frustration. The fight scenes in this film are some of the best I have ever witnessed on screen and accomplish a realism and brutality that other movies either can't or won't achieve. The choreography and cinematography along with the special effects were in harmony to bring these fight scenes together and prove to huge budget Hollywood action films that you don't need shaky cam and bad lighting to hide untalented directing when you can just make them good!

I think the two words I used the most to describe this film definitely do it the most justice. It's brutal and real.
