Some of the best MI episodes are those in which our team goes toe to toe with agents of a Communist Eastern European nation, and this is one of those. Guest cast is good; Antoinette Bower is a standout, making her fourth and final appearance in MI (she was in an earlier two-parter, The Slave). Antoinette, who was born in Germany and is convincing as a Communist adherent, looks especially smashing in early scenes where she wears a long leather coat and a tall Russian-type hat!
The plot clicks along nicely. Jim, Paris and Barney get the most to do in this one. Some of the 5th season shows had Dana as a very central figure, but she is definitely just supporting here. She also looks good in her Eastern Europe type outfit.
This episode reminds us that the Cold War was a tough, hard conflict, with potentially grim consequences for the agents who fought in it. Good plot; highly watchable. I like the foreign-oriented episodes best.
