First time in three years an episode actually gripped me

Warning: Spoilers
The Rising Song is the first episode that actually had me on edge since the Season 9 finale three years ago. This was, in every aspect, a really good and gripping episode. And that is exactly what the show so desperately needs nowadays. The last 3 seasons completely failed to impressed me. The writers completely took the excitement out of the show by randomly killing off one character after another just to keep the viewers on edge, which failed immensely. If you don't know how to shape an episode (or a season in that matter) in order to keep the story exciting and fresh, quit your job. Because that is what completely messed up the show over these last three years. Robbie Thompson was the only one, who was able to save some episodes with his genius writing. Which is why I was so genuinely shocked by The Rising Son. This is how every single episode should look like. This is the least of what this show needs. So good job on this episode, guys! You really impressed me and most of the fandom. Jack is the new favorite and finally brings in that fresh air the show so desperately needed. Same goes for Lucifer. Mark is an absolute amazing actor, every scene is on point. I wish I could say the same for Jared though. I know he is an amazing actor, we have all seen it in the earlier seasons. But the writers completely block him from showing his skills in front of the camera by always giving him the same lines that we already heard a hundred times before. But that applies to all recent episodes. Another thing that should really be acknowledged is character development. Which, once again, is being completely ignored. After Benny, Dean changed his views and was much more careful when it comes to monsters, angels and demons. But well, apparently that is forgotten? Dean's views and actions on Jack made absolutely no sense this episode and were far away from his character development that we saw years ago. But besides that, The Rising Son was a really good and thrilling episode that we so desperately need more of. Please keep it up!
