Mrs. Muir's (Hope Lange) housekeeper Martha (Reta Shaw) is dating the local dentist Dr. Milton Rodman (Jonathan Harris, "Lost in Space"). Mrs. Muir learns who her interest is after sending Captain Gregg (Edward Mulhare) and his ghostly ability to be unseen to spy upon them. Martha is perturbed when the dentist seems more interested in her teeth than herself. Mrs. Muir attempts to pick her spirits up and has the dentist and his mother over for dinner. Mrs. Rodman (familiar character actress Ruth McDevitt, "The Birds", "Bewitched") is a laid back pretentious woman who is overbearing and overprotective of her middle-aged son. It quickly wears thin on Martha who must decide if it's worth her prospect of romance, which may come in the most unlikely of sources.
