Would you rather be a dead hero or a live coward? This show seems to put people out there routinely as cannon fodder. Once again, an unarmed police officer stands his ground and he is killed. How many times has Luther or one of his colleagues been stabbed, shot, beaten nearly to death or worse, because all they had was their gift of gab. Ultimately, these guys are taken in or killed. But the death of Ripley was totally unnecessary. The bad guy asked him to back off. It would have been prudent until he had backup. Still, this is an intense effort. Luther's adversary continues to stalk him, now pretty much alone. There is still that guy out there and Mary is in serious trouble.
